Between 2021 and 2024, Pollenize created a network of research beehives (apiaries) stocked with European Dark Honey Bees.
Bees were sourced from Mount Edgcumbe Cornish Bee Group the UK’s first Black Bee Reserve, as well as Widdicombes Bees.
This apiary network worked to extend the local populations of our Native Dark Honey Bee. Hosting one our hives postitively contributed to the CSR, ESG, and Social Value budgets within organisations.
The iconic locations where we kept our colonies of bees helped amplify our message of pollinator conservation and engage organisations with our work. Many of our hives were painted by talented local artists.
