BIODIVERSITY SURVEYS

A BIODIVERSITY TRACKING TOOL

Developed with the University of Plymouth, Floradex is a pioneering biodiversity tracking tool which provides landowners, developers and businesses with an easy and effective solution for creating healthy habitats for pollinators.

Powered by robust data manipulation packages, the software Floradex utilises datasets from many different sources and formats, giving it the ability to select, reformat, reshape and combine each of the datasets. Floradex uses land data to strategically prescribe the next best planting solution for supporting on-site ecosystems (We stock 100s of native wildflower seeds!) This enables continuous improvements of the biodiversity of land and produces scientific, evidence-based reports to prove it.

THE POLLENIZE BIOBLITZ

A key feature of Floradex, our bioblitz events engage schools, the public, and staff in citizen science, collecting valuable biodiversity data to guide future planting strategies. A bioblitz is a short, intensive survey of biodiversity in a specific area, aimed at recording as many species as possible within a set time frame.

We feed data collected into cloud-based technology which uses AI and community experts to identify as many forms of animals and plants as possible.  Floradex then does the rest!

Bioblitzes are great for mental and physical well-being and are a huge support for Pollenize’s efforts to restore biodiversity in urban areas like Plymouth and beyond.
